On December 1, 2004, Dan Harmon created a thread on the Channel 101 forums, titled "I just made my first rejected Channel 101 pilot". FX, having difficulties about how the pilot would be categorized, lumped the pilot in the "reality show" category. Its competition was with a pilot starring Morgan Spurlock, who would later start 30 Days with FX a year later. Harmon insisted his audience to not take the loss with anger, but with acceptance.[2]
Harmon, along with several Channel 101 cast and crew, would make Acceptable.TV for VH1 in 2007, 3 years after the Channel 101 pilot for FX was passed.
