The 'Bu came on the scene humbly enough as a cute little sketch about a talking squirrel. When it got picked up for series, creators Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer opted to follow the storyline of the "show within the show," a teen drama in the style of The O.C., rather than continue the adventures of a cartoon squirrel. The result broke Time Belt's original record for longest running show before becoming a legend for a different reason: The last three of the eleven episodes were produced by different Channel 101 creators as the dying franchise was passed like a hot potato in the Lonely Island's absence. The controversy was put to rest in April of 2005, almost 2 years after a squirrel said "hoobastank."
The first show to make it a year. Ran from October 03 to April 05.
