When series creators Dan Harmon and Jeff Davis cast Drew Carey in the lead role of their "accidental private eye" story, Carey got hooked on the Channel 101 experience and directed the second episode, making Cobra the most expensive series since Ultraforce. But as a survival strategy, production value's price is not just financial: Shows with larger crews and detailed shooting schedules are more vulnerable to chaos, and a last minute snafu that might be sidestepped by a Twigger can annhilate a Cobra. In April of 2004, Call me Cobra was unable to shoot a third episode and its line was disconnected by default.
